Wilcox sm2

Check out RVC member Kurt Wilcox’s car…

Here’s the picture of my 71 Plymouth satellite Sebring. I am going to restore this as a GTX clone since it has alot of GTX features in it. Plus I have a 440 to put it in as well as Dana 60. Currently it has a 400 4bbl, 727 auto and 8 3/4 rear end with 3.23.  It also came with A/C, P/B, P/S, sill moldings, wheel lip moldings, drip rail moldings, body side pinstripe, light package, bucket seats, canopy vinyl roof, and deluxe interior that’s two toned charcoal/black. This one is came with gunmetal metallic paint.

I am very likely going to keep the car restore as it was except changing it to GTX clone. (same color and all options on fender tag, but adding GTX muscle to it.)

I am going to need some help in searching for parts for it, like Grille, Sill moldings, rallye dash, and few other stuff.

This one’s a keeper for good. This is going to stay in my family for as long as my kids will want to keep, for me as long as I live. I had 73 340 roadrunner and thoroughly enjoyed it before selling it, and bought a 70 roadrunner, which was an unusual find, rallye red, white interior, bucket seats, 383, air grabber, auto on column, factory hemi suspension with 15 inch rallye rims, all original, I got frustrated with the restoration process which was back in 1996, parts are hard to come by, I gave up and sold it, but I sorely regretted it. I was hoping to find another roadrunner, but came across two 72 400 and a 340 roadrunners but I did not buy it, my bad! 15 years had passed, now I found this 71 Plymouth, I would not let it slip through my fingers again, I had to buy it. Now I own it and it is not going anywhere for good. I sure wished it is a real RM23 roadrunner or RP23 GTX but this is close I could get. It’s fine by me. I will build one close enough just to enjoy it, not just me but my family as well.
