The proper way to do a burnout

But.........................did ya win?

Actually - yes. Caught hime in the lights. One of thr few times I didn't have a problem racing a slower car. I usually red light. Hard to wait. In the good old days ( which weren't that good ) the flag man would pace off the # of car lengths he thought the other car should get and move him that far down the track. The flag man would then move down the track in front of the slower car so he could flag off both cars at the same time. Ways that crude or what?? Once at Awsego, I had to race a Cheby with my Plymouth and they gave the guy about a 10 car length lead. I was doing about 50 MPH when I went by the flag man ( who was about 3 feet away from my car). Did I mention - unsafe?

I missed the flagmen, but they did still have 5 amber trees when I started. Also, no incremental clocks or reaction timers. Sometimes I think we'd be better off if they did away with all that crap.

Totally agree on that one Dennis. Your time slip almost puts you in information overload these days.
