I submit to our web-site these Spy photos of a restoration project nearing completion, and soon to be debuted at our Koller Dodge Car Show, Sunday, May 21, 2000.
The man with the obsession vision, we’ll just call him "Doc", is so proud of his creation he’s about to bust. And proud he should be, he has brought back a 1947 Dodge "big rig", fully customized and mated to a business (food vending, Ice cream & hot dogs) that allows him to pursue his favorite pastime (and make a couple of dollars in semi retirement), attending car events. Let me put it in another way, A Tricked out, fully customized 6-ton, 440-powered, Mopar Big Rig, Hot Rod that redefines the category of "Unique".
Now I’m not talking about a thrown together effort, Terry Getzelman of Getz’s Auto Body in Hampshire IL, has put in the craftsmanship of a "Best of Show" winner. The Paint, the Graphics, all the details, are absolutely first rate. Is it possible to win a best of show trophy while vending? We’ll see.
Seeing this truck in person should be reason enough to attend our Koller show this year, but as usual it will be only one of many Mopar debuts. Plus we are again having our "Diamonds in the Rough" class for the many Mopar's that await the fruition of their owners dream. For our club exists for people like you & me who appreciate all Mopars, Old, New, Muscle, Front drivers, Trucks, Fully restored, UN-restored, drivers, show cars, everything from trailer queens to basket cases.
See you at Koller, Bruce Graham.
